Good Golly Greens

There is always some new break through of an item, every one should be taking. How can a girl keep up ūüė¶ . But this product has been creating buzz for some time. Keeping a steady nutrient regimen can be costly. So at times it best to ask yourself, “Where do I get more bang for my buck”. One thing my mommy told me to always keep if I could afford no other nutrient, (drum roll please) is Chlorella. It is one of the green super foods. An extremly high source of chlorophyll. In fact I will call it thee green super food. It is a completely food so you could survive and be healthy with chlorella alone.¬† Chlorella is excellent for detoxing the body of impurities. Excellent at purifying the blood. For all those cleaning up you life style and losing weight, you need chlorella. Fat holds toxins so all that sludge in your body from your excess fat is being stirred up. So chlorella is great for cleaning out those toxins. Chlorella is a great source of protein and amino acids, which are key for building muscle. We all know that muscle burns fat :). Also it is excellent for constipation, which is also a key for not just weight loss but overall health. Gotta take that garbage out. For my beauty buffs it is also an anti-aging nutrient it is great for cell rejuvenation, as well as hair growth. With high contents of vitamin B also known as the “beauty vitamins”, it is great for hair, skin and nails. There is also a high content of vitamin A,beta-carotene protecting you from free radicals which also slow down aging. But we are not done yet it has magnesium which is essential for your heart. It improved digestion, lowers blood pressure and sugar, gives great energy, balances the bodies PH level, strengthens blood vessels and bones and your immune system. If your not sold yet, I tried. But those are just the positive side effects I am aware of but, Im sure there are more. And I almost forgot it contains trace-minerals which are extremely important, yet easily forgotten part of a nutrient regimen. Chlorella is something every person should include in their diet. It definitely follow my blog’s motto, “Good health from the root of your hair to your toot!” Cheers!


Consequences of choice

Ok so I am in the process of getting the hang of this blogging business. So bare with the structure of my page. Two things that are near and dear to me are weight loss and natural hair care. Weight has been a struggle (that I will win cheers!) Since I was a girl I loved candy. It would have to be in my mouth at all times Not sure if it was an oral fixation of just pure greed. But also growing up my mom was a vegetarian. She also ate no sugar. So you can imagine outside of my constant junk food binge the type of diet I had. She also made me exercise every day, until I began playing sports. But as I have started my own family (and old habits die hard) I absolutely love to exercise, I love healthy food, and unfortunately I love junk food even more. So I am going to chronicle my journey to physical fitness. I am determined to lose weight. I want to be healthy. And I want to look great (I look great already but even better). Starting this blog will force me to start holding my self accountable. Hopefully my triumph will inspire others!

Now the other important topic, is natural hair care. Being a Black woman I have seen so many friends and family members do things to destroy their hair and scalp in hopes to achieve what they perceive as beautiful hair. The perms, glued on weaves, or extremely tight braids, only cause hair loss. Now I do want to cover natural hair care for other ethnic groups as I go along, but Black hair care is what I know best. So the more feed back I get and the more research I do I will be able to offer advice to all people. But I have seen countless black girls (not women) with extremely short brittle dry hair. Or even worse an receding hair line. Too many black woman from when a girl is one (and I have seen smaller)put HEAT on a child’s hair. Which destroy the child’s hair then wonder why the hair is in the condition it’s in. Well go figure. My mother has a motto, “if it’s not edible it won’t go in my body”.¬† Many chemicals we are unaware get in out blood steam, and causes all types of damage. So I am big believer in the natural hair movement. Much of the resistance is due to generational insecurities. When I say natural hair it doesn’t have necessarily be curly or locked. Just as long as how you have styled it won’t damage the hair and scalp.

Also another thing I observe is many White women and their tanning addiction. I have seen some people literally turn orange. And as they age you can tell women who have tanned alot,  because their skin looks spotted and leathery, (not a good look ladies). So hopefully I get feed back from some white ladies on how they were able to maybe achieve a tanned look with out causing any long term or short term damage to their skin. This is a subject that does no affect me personally. But something that needs to be addressed.

A thing I have learned about life that it is simply about choice. Where we look at all consequences. When we only look at the immediate. We are bound to make several mistakes. We will eat bad only thinking of the temporary pleasure of the food on our lips. We applied heat the third day in a row seeing the damage it’s causing to temporarily get that perfect curl. When we look at the long term instead of the immediate making good decisions about beauty and health, are not as hard as you may think.

You want to look beautiful for a change?

Soooo…You want to look beautiful right. Tired of looking in the mirror feeling bad about your weight, hair, skin etc. Right here right now it’s you time to change. I am convinced that beauty, health, and confidence all go hand in hand. They are important maybe not in that order, your health come first. But when your healthy it improves your beauty from head to toe. When you feel beautiful and healthy it will boost your confidence which helps every aspect of your life. This blog will focus on health and beauty. The health aspect of this blog will focus on your diet and and important things that you need to include in that exercise and healthy living habits. Beauty is¬†extremely¬†important! But at what cost? ¬†Many things we do to ourselves to¬†achieve¬†beauty actually do more harm than good. I am convinced many of the diseases we see people with are a result of the things they have done to themselves to be beautiful. I want people to know that healthy beauty is the best. ¬†And there is not a thing wrong with altering ¬†your appearance. I do it! But as long is it does cause any harm to you. All harm is not immediate. Some things take years to¬†accomplished¬†and once they are done,¬†repairing¬†the¬†damage¬†can be a¬†grueling¬†and an emotional process. So why not get healthy and improve your beauty all in one stroke. Let’s look good naked! Not just with out clothes. But when you wake up in the morning ¬†before you have put on any make up or curled your hair(minus the puffy eyes and face that not a good look for any one). ¬†That’s is why my blog is named Roota to the Toota, “Good health from the root of your hair to your toot!
